Wolf Spider (Lycosidae)

Wolf spiders are distributed throughout most of the world. Sometimes called the “true tarantula”, though not closely related to the spiders most commonly called tarantulas today. Lycosa spp. can be distinguished from common wolf spiders by their relatively large size.
