Cuming’s Water Monitor (Varanus cumingi)

Varanus cumingi, commonly known as Cuming’s water monitor, is a medium-sized monitor lizard native to the Philippines. It inhabits forests, wetlands, and coastal areas, often near rivers and streams, where it is an excellent swimmer. This species has a robust body with dark brown to black skin marked by yellow or cream spots and stripes, providing effective camouflage in its natural habitat.
